I’m a software engineer in London. I currently work for Thoughtbot UK, where I’m so new that I can’t do justice to a description of the place. Trendy startups ask for our help with stuff, we go write code and give advice (but mostly just code for me, while I’m new).

I decided to start this blog because I’ve been reading a lot of software books lately, and I always learn a bit more by packaging what I learn for other people. I’m a big believer in the value of books over blog posts and Youtube tutorials. Books communicate far more information, and the process of writing large quantities of words makes authors engage with their work in a way that media with lower barriers to entry do not. The result is so often much more coherent and helpful than just piecing together information from the Internet.
